for joining us, i'm megan pringle. >> i'm jamie costello. welcome back, justin berk. >> we've got another hurricane but this one well out into the atlantic and this one not going to impact us at least immediately and at least in the near term. we're looking at first off, after the first wet day in nearly three weeks morning clouds and some areas of fog. even dampness on the yownd that will dry out this afternoon, as the breeze gives us clearing sunshine and nice warm temperatures. there's hurricane igor. right now a very strong category 4 and could become a category 5 storm as we head on in through the afternoon or evening. we'll talk more about that coming up. this morning, just quiet around town. low clouds, areas of fog and 61 in baltimore. to 57 with fog over there in easton on the eastern shore. we're clear and we're quiet on maryland's most powerful doppler radar. five complete sweeps across the chesapeake and maryland, no rain today but early fog and clouds giving way to clearing. this afternoon's 2-degree guaranteed high of 82 with sunshine. >>> let's check the roads with kim. >>
morning, maryland," i'm jamie costello. >> i'm megan pringle. thanks for joining us. >> good morning, lynnette. >> good morning, jamie. we missed you yesterday, by the way. we're looking athe good weather for today. 76 degrees is the perfect temperature. we're going to be dry once again. that's the caveat in the forecast. a bit cooler so it lowers the risk for the fire potential, but it still is possible. so we have to watch that. so still no outdoor burning. more sunshine for today. those temperatures will be in the mid to upper 70s. save the best news for last is the fact that we need some rain and we could see that over the weekend. the timing's not that great but we need it. maryland's most powerful doppler radar not picking up any rain as of now. it will get more active as we head into the weekend. the temperature into easton is 55 degrees right now. we're looking at that humidity at 76%. the sustained winds are calm as of now. we have a gust up to 8 miles per hour. all of this will be picking up, the sustained winds as we go throughout the afternoon and morning time frame. the

through the morning. we get that sun up by 6:53 and it does some work by this afternoon, bringing us to near normal. let's see what is happening on those roads. here is kim brown. >> we have fire activity in baltimore city that has the eastbound lanes right at falls road partially blocked because of fire and police equipment. so police are going to be out there providing drivers with the detours. keep that in mind. aside from that, we look around the area, no issues along the corridor. we are clear here in baltimore county. no problems southbound from hartford county. 83 looks good as does 795. megan, back to you. >> thanks, kim. there's new information this morning, the death of a 14-year- old from belle air who was hit by a car after crossing a busy intersection. the pedestrian lights at route 24 are on now, but state police received a number of complaints that they were not working on friday. the state highway administration is investigating, but meantime, friends and family of 14-year- old joey are trying to face the reality. they continue to stop by and pay tribute and hug at
brings us up with sunny skies to 80 degrees this afternoon. by 4:00 p.m. lets check the roads with kim. >>> good morning. traffic is moving very well around the beltway so far. no problems up and down 95. as we peek here in anne arundel county, this is going to be 97 at benfield boulevard. traffic is pretty good northbound towards 695. no problems southbound as you approach route 50 making your way in towards the capitol beltway. traffic looks good towards dc so far. as we look at drive times, very few delays especially northbound 95. nine minutes between route 100 to 95. howard county, 10 minutes between i-70 to route 32. on the outer loop of the beltway southwest corner, no problems. only six minutes between i-70 and 95. one incident this morning, in western howard county, woodbine, they've actually closed the intersection of route 94 and old annapolis road again. we had downed poles and wires and utility work continues so expect to see minor delays out in that area. back to you. >>> do you feel safe in baltimore? you're going to think about that when you vote today for city state's
us more about their tour. g good morning, jamie. that's right. we caught up with the tour of duty this morning. they ran just past us headed wards washington, d.c. the first responders took to the road early august from california just to commemorate september 11 and those who lost their lives. you can see the video here. they had an escort which is great for safety. firefighters have come from all over the world. even as far as australia just to participate in this lune. the team hopes arrive in new york city on saturday for the 9th anniversary of the september 11 attack. the team is broken up into three groups. each group runs for six hours and then they recover for 12 hours and again, you can see the team, two of them running side by side on their way into dc and it's all in an effort to honor their fellow brothers and sisters who lost their lives on september 11. now it's important to note that the team is also raising money for a variety of charities as well. in the studio, sherrie johnson, abc2 news. >>> 6:34. listen. are you feeling down? perhaps a hug can pick you up. >>
saturday by erdman avenue in east baltimore. abc2 news sherrie johnson joins us with more. >> reporter: police are still looking for answers in this case and two little girls are left without a father after a fatal hit-and-run accident. it happened saturday about 7:00 p.m. in the 5200 block of erdman avenue in east baltimore. witnesses say a black mercedes hit 25-year-old gerard grant on his motorcycle. the driver of the mercedes immediately fled the scene. police don't believe this is a case of road rage. there is significant damage to the driver's side of the mercedes and witnesses say it was tough to watch. >> i heard, like, a pop. then i seen the young man flying in the air with his motorcycle. three times he did. land on the ground. >> reporter: police say they are looking for a black mercedes with major damage to the driver's side and the mirror missing. anybody with information should call the accident investigation unit at 410-396-2609. in the studio, sherrie johnson, abc2 news. >>> another motorcyclist dead after a crash. this one happened in glen burnie. it happened at the in
